Born in Houston in1956 Sharon grew up in a working class family. She studied Design and Architecture and later worked in commercial real estate. In the early 80′s, Sharon transferred to Atlanta and continued working in real estate for a short while.  However, soon after moving to Atlanta she returned to college to study art and art history and attended Agnes Scott College.

Sharon transferred to New York University where she graduated with honors and a Bachelor of Science in Art Education. It was there she developed her passion in painting and mixed media. She studied painting with Lisa Yuskavage, Freya Hansell and Emily Chang, as well as other professors actively involved in the New York art scene.

After relocating to Northern California in 1996, she became an active participant and member of the San Francisco art community. Her studio was located in the emerging artists community of Hunter’s Point and later at the Alameda Art Works in San Jose. During this time, and even now, most of her work consists of mixed media paintings with oil or encaustics or has taken the form of three-dimensional objects.

Sharon moved to Austin, Texas in 2005 where she now teaches and works as a full time artist. She also maintains a studio in Houston. Her works are in numerous corporate and private collections throughout the United States.
